Description

Stuffed Cabbage Rolls are a classic comfort food dish featuring tender cabbage leaves filled with a savory mixture of ground beef, rice, and seasonings, all baked in a flavorful tomato sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 cabbage leaves
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup cooked rice
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 teaspoons salt

  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Blanch cabbage leaves for 2-3 minutes until soft. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, cooked rice, chopped onion, beaten egg, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix thoroughly.
  3. Place a portion of the meat mixture in the center of each cabbage leaf. Roll up, tucking in the ends, and secure with toothpicks.
  4. In a small bowl, mix tomato sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour a little of the sauce into the bottom of a baking dish.
  5. Arrange cabbage rolls in the dish and pour remaining sauce over the top.
