Description

Philly Cheesesteak Garlic Bread is a delightful fusion of two beloved dishes – the classic Philly cheesesteak and garlic bread. This recipe combines tender ribeye steak, caramelized onions, bell peppers (optional), and a blend of cheeses atop a savory garlic buttered Italian bread base.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf Italian bread
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 pound ribeye steak
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced (optional)
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese
  • Chopped parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice Italian bread lengthwise into two halves and place on the baking sheet, cut side up.
  3. In a bowl, mix minced garlic, softened butter, salt, and pepper. Spread this mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread and set aside.
  4. Slice ribeye steak into thin strips and season with salt and pepper.
  5. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and cook sliced onions until caramelized. Add green bell peppers (if using) and cook for additional 5 minutes. Transfer to a plate and cover to keep warm.
  6. In the same skillet, add ribeye slices and cook until done but not crisp. Shred the meat using spatulas.
  7. Divide the cooked ribeye evenly between both halves of the bread. Top with caramelized onions and peppers, if using. Sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan cheese over the toppings.
  8. Bake for 12-14 minutes or until cheese is golden brown and bubbly.
  9. Garnish with chopped parsley, slice, and serve.
