- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Melt 1/2 cup butter in a 9-inch round cake pan. Add brown sugar and melt together over medium heat. Sprinkle chopped pecans evenly over the sugar.
- In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and baking powder.
- In another bowl, cream together softened butter and white sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla. Add flour mixture alternately with milk, mixing just until incorporated.
- Pour batter over pecans in the pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then invert onto a serving plate. Serve warm or at room temperature.
