  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 4 tbsp flour

  • 2 cups milk
  • Sea salt and freshly cracked pepper, to taste
  • Bread, toasted

Instructions

  1. Rinse the dried beef slices thoroughly and pat them dry with a paper towel. Chop them into small, bite-sized pieces and set aside.
  2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and cayenne pepper, whisking continuously until smooth and cooked through, about 45 seconds.
  3. Slowly pour in the milk while whisking constantly to prevent lumps from forming. Allow the mixture to simmer until slightly thickened.
  4. Add the chopped beef to the saucepan and stir to combine. Cook for a few minutes until the sauce is thickened to your desired consistency.
  5. Season the creamy beef mixture with sea salt and freshly cracked pepper, adjusting to taste.
  6. Serve the creamy chipped beef over toasted bread immediately.
